Bacon and Alzheimer's

Now, that's a title to grab someone's attention! Hubby loves his big Texas breakfasts. So each morning he requests something different, thinking he is married to a short-order cook, LOL! I have always enjoyed doing this for him. However, lately his list of things he wants in one meal like: omelet with onions, bacon, tomatoes, and cheese with white gravy and toast with the crusts cut off with butter and peach jam, has become a bit of a problem for my dwindling brain space. He watches me as I mutter to myself as he places the order and wander to the kitchen. He asks if there is a problem, and I always reply "no" as I'm just trying to remember everything. I actually do well with these complex orders. It's the easier ones that seem to get me. The past two days, he tried to keep it simple for me. Tater tots with bacon and gravy. Both days I forgot the bacon and I could see that he was disappointed. However, after breakfast as I was cleaning up the mess he came over and put his arms around me and said that I was his sweetie. I commented that his sweetie couldn't even get a simple breakfast right and he pointed out that it didn't matter.... his belly was full.

Lucked out with that one to go through this nightmare with, yes?

On a lighter note:

A local candle shop here in town is now selling my woodcarvings!
