Expansion With Alzheimer's

I thought I'd share my post from Instagram today since I talked about Alzheimer's. I belong to a group that uses Tarot cards to represent a prompt word of the day. I like that it keeps my mind focused on something each day and I enjoy reading other's thoughts that have sprung from the same word. Today's word is: Expansion
Three of Wands, growth beyond current limit.
The Three of Wands follows the spark (Ace) and the plan (Two). By the Three, something is already in motion. We’re no longer beginning but expanding. It’s about lifting one’s gaze outward and asking how far can this go?
“Ever since I was a child, I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one's potential. — Bruce Lee
I’m not particularly a Bruce Lee fan, but this reflects how I’ve always approached life. I’ve never been satisfied with what’s easy. If anything, I tend to make things harder because that’s where I feel most alive.
I’ve never followed directions well. They stifle creativity. They lead everyone to the same place and that’s never been acceptable to me.
I’ve been told that with Alzheimer's disease, I will be diminished.
NO! If anything, it has forced me to expand and to create new pathways, new ways of thinking, new ways of doing what once came easily.
My potential isn’t fading. It’s still unfolding.

I use Procreate to design my posts. Probably another thing that I do that people who insist that I don't have Alzheimer's would use as proof that I don't. We, with dementia, need to be sitting in a corner drooling before anyone would believe that we have issues. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.
